Why I started Creations D'Aversa.
For years, I scrolled endlessly through Pinterest, mesmerized by all the beautiful photos of creativity. Those photos inspired me to start crafting. My mother Rosie already had a passion for crafts, therefore it was a great way for us to begin creating memories and share what we both enjoy.
But this is not why I started this company. I started this company because I have big dreams for it and myself. I never want to limit myself to one category or label. Rather, I want to be it all. A business woman, a daughter, a wife, a sister, a woman, a visionary, a Christian, a leader, an author, and of course MYSELF. Staying true to myself is most important and sharing my passion for creativity with all of you is my journey.
It all began seven years ago as my family and I were on our way to San Francisco, California. We were in Ghirardelli Square and I saw the cutest cafe that had me written all over it. It was filled with beautiful treasures glimmering with shades of pinks, blues and purples. Walking into this café, I knew that I had a long road ahead in order to get to where I wanted to be in this field. The overwhelming feeling of excitement came over me that day, and has been with me ever since that place entered my life.
My dream is to be able to one day open my own chic boutique here in Montreal. Once I open my boutique, I would employ people with intellectual disabilities. I know in my heart that this is my calling. I care about people, and I know how difficult it is for those with disabilities to find employment. As I mentioned in my first blog, I work with people who have intellectual disabilities, so I know first hand how limited and important work opportunities are for those who have disabilities.
I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life and I am so grateful to be able to share it with all of you. Thank you for allowing me to share a little bit about myself and my story. There is more to come, so stay tuned as Creations D’Aversa is only getting started!
